Why attend our Camp
SKILLS
We all love watching those insane videos of riders on social media and hope to be able to post one them of ourselves someday. I have noticed over the years this has signifigantly influced many rider's styles and it is still hard to replicate those who are at the top of the their game. Our camp teaches the fundamentals and basis all riders, begginers to pros, can learn from to develop their skills, fitness, style, and most importantly, acheiving the STEEEEEZZEEE.
FUN
Our Camp is on the campus of Mt. St Mary's Univeristy, we have access to all of the ammenities. I go to school there, so when we arent riding our bikes we will have plenty of exploring and activities to keep us engaged and spirited. Any requests for games or ideas will be satidfied when we have our down time! We will be riding the trails on campus and the adjascent Emmitsburg Watershed, Frederick Watershed, and Michaux State Forest. Our cafeteria has great food and lots to choose from..
SAFETY
*Our objective is to keep everyone safe. We have safety plans, the service of the University's safety and security department, and an urgent care facility on campus. (Which we don't plan on using). All dorms have a Mount access key cards
*Nobody is going to ride anything above their ability. We assess everyone.
*Our camp is geared for boys and girls ages 13-18 who are motivated and experienced.
*Our trails encourages and rewards harder line choices and more advanced skills, which makes it excellent for maintaining safety and confidence on the trails.
RIDING AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
The collegiate racing scene is an excellent stepping stone from what NICA offers to high schoolers for those looking to race at higher levels. The collegiate racing scene offers high level of competition with riders from around the country and in some cases around the world. However, what makes the racing scene special is how quickly you will make freinds not just from your school, but from other schools all over the country. You become apart of a community that is so special and unique to any other competetion sport that only drives you and others to become better riders, friends, supporters, and ultimately people. It takes highly motivated and deciplined student athletes to be able to compete an entire collegiate season. Our camp gives a sneak peak to not only the cycling side of things required to be a successful athlete, but also the student side. Student comes first in student athelte!!!!
